Can you use a Railcard on the Caledonian Sleeper?

Yes — most National Railcards are accepted on the Caledonian Sleeper and can save up to a third on eligible fares, but there's a crucial limitation to understand before you count on it. The discount applies to reclining Seats and to single-occupancy room products — in other words, to solo travellers — not to two people sharing a room. So a couple booking a shared Classic or Club cabin will not get a third off the room price; the saving is really for seated tickets and solo room bookings. The one exception is a Disabled Persons Railcard holder travelling with a companion. On top of that, the discount never applies to the top Caledonian Double En-suite room, the 16–17 Saver gives nothing here, and some passes (such as certain Flexipass products) are excluded. To use a Railcard, select it when booking so the fare is discounted, and carry the valid card to show on board. Eligible cardholders include the 16–25, 26–30, Senior, Disabled Persons and (for the qualifying fares) Two Together and Family & Friends Railcards. Because eligibility and the exact discount vary by fare and change over time, check that your card is accepted for your chosen ticket at the point of booking rather than assuming.
